In the latest WordPress 5.0 update, the old classic editor has been replaced with a new block editor that looks modern and most advanced.
However, many people are finding it hard to get accustomed to the new Gutenberg WordPress editor as it looks completely different from what they’ve been used to.
Luckily, WordPress has itself provided an option to disable the Gutenberg editor.
How to Switch Back to Old Classic Editor in WordPress 5.0?
Well, getting back your old wordpress editor is very simple. Just follow the steps below.
- Just go to Plugins > New
- Search for ‘classic editor’
- Install and Activate it.
- Now, go to Settings > Writing
- Select the ‘Classic Editor’ option under ‘Default editor for all users’ menu
- Click ‘Save Changes’ at the bottom of the page.
That’s it! You’ve now disabled the new Block editor and got back the old classic wordpress editor.
However, do note that the support for the Old Classic Editor will be intact only until 2022, after which the new Block editor will replace it permanently.
So, it is advised to get accustomed to using the new Gutenberg block editor when you have time.
Moreover, it is more advanced and also easy to use. Anyways, I will soon come up with an article on ‘How to use the Block editor efficiently’.
