Track Your DMCA Complaint Status On Google

We’ve earlier discussed about filing a DMCA complaint to Google. Besides filing a complaint, it is also essential to track its status. A proper DMCA complaint will definitely be not ignored by Google and the appropriate action will be taken on the website that copied your content. Mostly, the reported URLs of the other website will be removed from the search results. But, in rare cases, the entire copy-cat’s website will be prevented to appear in the search results.

Google has provided simple online forms for reporting online copyright infringements separately for each Google properties like Google Adsense, Blogger, YouTube and Web Search.

You can as well use the DMCA Dashboard to track the status of all your DMCA complaints related to web search at one place.

DMCA Complaint Removal Requests

If your complaint is genuine, then Google will take necessary action on the offending site and will remove all the reported pages from its search results. Next, it will forward a copy of your DMCA complaint as well as the action taken to the Chilling Effects website where all the DMCA notices are archived and your complaint will be visible to the public.

Note: As the DMCA dashboard is associated with Webmaster Tools, you’ll only have the chance to file complaints in favor of the sites that you’ve registered with webmaster tools.
